IPLP Project Evaluation Team Report from Working Groups
The summaries below were submitted from the NEIU Across Project Evaluation Team to the IPLP Project Evaluation Team on February 18, 2003. These are process documents in that they are the beginning of a more extensive mapping of evaluation data, plans and implications at NEIU. A more comprehensive mapping is due from the NEIU APET in mid-April 2003.
At the end of each document there is an email link. Please use this to send corrections, additions and responses to the information in the summary. Please keep in mind that these documents were constrained by the reporting form that was sent by the NCREL outside evaluator to PET (see link below.) Now we do not need to limit our work to these restrictions.

Individual NEIU Working Group Reports
High Needs Elementary Education Program - NEIU: Redesigned elementary education program beginning with freshmen, redesign general education. Writing, early field experiences, co-teaching, learning communities, and portfolios.
Early Childhood Education - NEIU: Revision of an early childhood program with a focus on writing, technology, group work and interpersonal skills, and cultural diversity.
New Teacher Program - NEIU: A model for university support of beginning teachers in local schools.
Non-Traditional Cohort - NEIU, YCCS: Creating alternative certification programs for teachers and administrators who are conducting an alternative high school.
Video Cases For Teacher Learning - NU, NEIU: Implementation of Teachscape to support pre-service teacher education classes.
Teacher Education and School Change - NEIU, North Chicago: Professional development of faculty and teacher mentor training that will lead to school change and impact pre-service teacher education.
Faculty Professional Development - NEIU: Study of innovative practices in university classes for initial teacher education candidates and dissemination to others.
Community College Team - NEIU, CCC: Expanding cohort model for freshmen/sophomore students and aligning with state standards
Recruitment - NEIU: Designing activities among higher education, community colleges, and high schools to increase diversity of students in teacher education.
Mentoring and Induction for New Teachers - CPS, NEIU, RU, LU, ISU: Four universities provide staff to assist in the CPS induction program for second year teachers.
and Golden Teachers- ISU, NEIU, LU, and RU work with CPS to support professional development for beginning teachers and New Teachers Seminars.
